Because it’s not always sunny… Northern Teardrop’s Square Drop Overland trailer is designed with a roomier, more comfortable space indoors – a haven for when the great outdoors is just not cooperating.

The square drop and overland off road models are based on customer “wants” and the culmination of over 15 years experience designing, building and camping in our teardrop trailers, including more leg room, roof rack and our all new 270 degree oversize batwing awning, large front trunk with slide out cooler tray amongst other things. They have a much roomier interior and windows for gazing out. Our Squaredrop and Overland designs are made for hanging out in with room for 4 to sit – unlike most teardrop designs which are more or less for sleeping.

All this on a heavy duty welded frame featuring high clearance and sharper departure angle to get you through some of the more challenging terrain wherever it should arise – yet perfectly at home on the highway or in the park.

Or perhaps it’s just a comfortable place to wait out the weather & maybe get lost in your favourite book.

The exterior skin is a high quality, prepainted, aluminum product that is manufactured specifically for exterior use to withstand the sun and elements in Canada. Pictured above is our standard colour scheme – see our Kluane Teardrop page for custom colour options.

Don’t be confused by talk of oversized, complicated 3500 lb suspension systems – they have their applications, but for a light-weight trailer, this would create an incredibly stiff ride. Our Dexter 2000 lb straight axle is simple and effective, and simple is something you can rely on when you are a hundred kms away from pavement or thousands of kms from parts for a specialty suspension system. This, plus Dexter E-Z lube hubs and a fully welded 2″ structural steel chassis complete the heavy duty trailer frames to create a tough and dependable light Overland trailer about 1000lbs – and at a very sensible price.

A comfortable and roomy interior to hang out in when the weather is uncooperative (please note, due to our own limited storage space, trifold mattress is not included. We can advise of make, model and online location to purchase).
